I wake up at 5 a.m. My brother doesn't wake up as early as I do; he often gets up around 9:30 a.m. since he works in the afternoon. I don't have breakfast until 9:30 a.m. on my first break at work, and my brother eats breakfast with me at the same time. We're both single and hardworking, living in our parents' house, and we help them with chores.

  • Sentence 2: The predicate (main verb) is "wake up," which is in the present tense. The subject "I" is first person singular, so the verb "wake" correctly agrees with the subject.
  • Sentence 3: "Doesn't wake up" contains the auxiliary verb "doesn't," which is used in the negative form with the base form of the verb "wake" because the subject "brother" is third person singular. The subject "brother" and the verb "wake" agree with the use of the auxiliary verb "doesn't."
