 1. Noun

  Examples: he, she, it, they, I, you, we, ours.

   Pronouns replace nouns to avoid repetition.

   Examples: run, write, is, have...

   Verbs describe actions, states, or occurrences. 

 4. Adjective

   Examples: happy, blue, tall, intelligent

   Adjectives modify nouns, providing more detail about them. They answer questions like “What kind?” or “How many?”

5. Adverb

   -Examples: quickly, very, well, silently...

   Adverbs modify verbs, adjectives, or other adverbs. They often answer questions like “How?” “When?” “Where?” or “To what extent?”


6. Preposition

   Examples: in, on, under...

Prepositions show relationships between other words, often indicating location or direction. 

 7. Conjunction

   Examples: and, but, or, because

  Conjunctions connect words, phrases, or clauses. They help to build relationships between different parts of a sentence.

8. Interjection

Wow, that’s incredible!

Oops, I forgot my keys.

Yikes, that’s a huge spider!

Interjection is a part of speech used to express strong feelings or sudden exclamations. 

Article

Examples: a, an, the...

Articles define nouns as specific or unspecific. “The” is definite, while “a” and “an” are indefinite.

Sentence: "The big dog runs quickly in the park.

The (Article): Defines the noun "dog" as something specific. It is a definite article.

big (Adjective): Describes the noun "dog," indicating its size.

dog (Noun): Names an animal and is the subject of the sentence.

runs (Verb): Describes the action performed by the subject (the dog).

quickly (Adverb): Modifies the verb "runs," indicating how the action is performed.

in (Preposition): Shows the relationship between the verb "runs" and the noun "park."

the (Article): Defines the noun "park" as something specific. It is a definite article.

park (Noun): Names a place and is the object of the preposition "in."
