There are eight parts of speech.
1. Nouns - these are the names of a person, things, animals, and place.
example. His name is Joseph.
2. Pronouns - pronouns are words that replaces nouns.
example. She is a volleyball player.
3. Adjectives - words that describe a noun or pronoun, providing more information about its qualities.
example. The sky is gray.
4. Verbs are action words.
example. Joseph skipped down the hallway.
5. Adverb are words that describes an action, state, or occurrence.
example. Yesterday, I walked to school quickly.
6. Preposition shows the relationship of a noun or pronoun to another word.
example. I left my homework on the table.
7. Conjunction joins the words, ideas or phrases.
example. He wanted to win, so he practiced every day.
8. Interjection is a word or phrase that expresses a strong feeling or emotion.
example. Hey! Watch where you're going.
