Today, I chose to try the vocabulary strategy of using context clues while reading. This involves paying close attention to the sentences around an unfamiliar word to infer its meaning without immediately reaching for a dictionary. I applied this strategy while reading a short story, focusing on how the words before and after the unknown term helped me understand it.
The strategy worked well for me because it encouraged deeper engagement with the text and helped me remember the new words better. For example, I encountered the word "meticulous," and by noting the description of the character's careful actions, I inferred that it meant being very careful and precise.
