Today, I decided to try the "Context Clues" strategy to build my vocabulary. I read a paragraph where the word "elated" was used, and I tried to figure out its meaning based on the sentences around it. The context suggested that "elated" meant feeling very happy or excited. I looked up the word afterward to confirm, and indeed, it means extremely happy or joyful.
This strategy worked well for me because it helped me understand new words without immediately reaching for a dictionary. I learned new words like "elated," "meticulous," and "benevolent." I plan to keep practicing context clues to expand my vocabulary in a natural way.
