Today, I tried the strategy of writing down new words I encountered, looking them up, and then using them in my own sentences.
While reading an article about workplace productivity, I came across the words "meticulous", "streamline", and "redundancy." I wrote them down, looked up their meanings in an online dictionary, and then created my own sentences using each word.
For example:
-
Meticulous: She is meticulous when organizing files, making sure every label is perfectly aligned.
-
Streamline: We streamlined our morning routine to save time.
-
Redundancy: The company removed redundancies to make the system more efficient.
This strategy worked well for me because it helped me actively engage with the words and remember their meanings better by using them in context. I’ll definitely keep using this method to build my vocabulary!
