I chose a strategy that I call the "Context Clue Method." The idea is to read an article or a book and whenever I encounter a new word, I first try to guess its meaning based on the surrounding sentences and the overall topic. Only after I've made a guess do I look up the actual definition. I then write down the word, its definition, and a new sentence of my own.
