IT Offshoring

Technology offshoring is a strategic business practice where companies relocate certain IT functions to offshore locations. This practice is often implemented when companies are looking to reduce overhead and cut costs. Although offshoring contributes to reducing company costs and freeing up more capital, it reduces the amount of IT jobs available in our communities. On top of reducing available IT jobs, it can also complicate IT operations due to the barriers of technology, language, and distance. Overall, I think that offshoring should only be used in moderation, and should not be a companies first option. Offshoring too many jobs could lessen available jobs, but having a small amount of them can help businesses become more successful by freeing up capital for other expenditures.
