I decided to try “Learn One New Word a Day.” I subscribed to Merriam-Webster’s Word of the Day and today’s word was mellifluous, which means “having a smooth, rich, and pleasant sound.” I learned it by reading the definition, listening to the audio pronunciation, and then using it in three sentences throughout the day. For example, I described a singer’s voice as mellifluous when talking to a friend. This strategy worked well for me because it felt manageable and easy to fit into my routine. I like that I can steadily build my vocabulary without feeling overwhelmed, and I’m excited to add tomorrow’s word to my personal lexicon.
