Vocabulary Strategy Experience

Today, I tried the context clues strategy to build my vocabulary. I chose unfamiliar words while reading a short article and used the surrounding sentences to guess their meanings before checking a dictionary.

It worked really well! I learned new words like “inadvertently” (meaning unintentionally) and “meticulous” (meaning very careful about details). By using context clues, I was able to remember the words better because I saw them in action rather than just memorizing definitions.

I think this strategy is very helpful because it encourages active reading and helps me understand how words are used naturally in sentences. I will definitely keep practicing it with other texts.
