Part of Speech

One sentence I found interesting from the lesson was:
“Adjectives describe nouns and pronouns.”

  • Adjectives (noun) – subject of the sentence

  • describe (verb) – action word

  • nouns (noun) – object of the verb

  • and (conjunction) – joins words

  • pronouns (noun) – another object of the verb

Another sentence I found important was:
“A verb shows action or state of being.”

  • verb (noun) – subject

  • shows (verb) – action word

  • action (noun) – object

  • or (conjunction) – joins ideas

  • being (noun/gerund) – another object

From these examples, I learned that parts of speech work together to build clear meaning in sentences. Knowing how to identify them helps me understand and write better sentences.
