Discussion Post – Parts of Speech

While reviewing the Parts of Speech resources, I learned how every word in a sentence plays a specific role. Here are some sentences that I found important:

  1. “Nouns are the names of people, places, things, or ideas.”

    • Examples of parts of speech:

      • Nouns: people, places, things, ideas

      • Verb: are

  2. “Adjectives describe or modify nouns.”

    • Examples:

      • Adjective: describe, modify

      • Noun: nouns

  3. “Verbs show action or a state of being.”

    • Examples:

      • Verb: show, action, being

      • Noun: verbs, state

Reflection:
What I found most useful is how adjectives give more detail to nouns, and how verbs connect the subject with its action or condition. This helps me write clearer sentences.

While I learned parts of speech I already knew some of them but not all. So I learned a lot of new informations. They were about injections, prepositions. Prepositions always was the most difficult topic for me. But after these lessons it became easier to understand them
