1.Noun 

Function: To name a person, place, thing, or idea. 

Example: dog, city, happiness, idea.

2. Pronoun 

Function: A pronoun replaces the noun to avoid needless repetition. 

Example: He, she, it, they, I.

3. Verb 

Function: A verb is used to show action or state of being. 

Example: run, is, think, read.

4. Adjective 

Function: An adjective describes or modifies a noun or pronoun. 

Example: blue, big, smart, happy.

5. Adverb

Function: An adverb is used to modify the meaning of a verb, an adjective, or another adverb, usually in respect to time, place, manner, or degree. 

Example: quickly, happily, very, yesterday. 

6. Preposition 

Function: A preposition establishes a relationship between a noun or pronoun and another word in the sentence, usually in respect to location, time, or direction.

Example: on, under, after, in, for.

7. Conjunction 

Function: A conjunction connects words, phrases, or clauses. 

Example: and, but, or, although.

8. Interjection 

Function: An interjection is a word or phrase that expresses strong emotion or surprise.

Example: Wow!, Alas!, Ouch!.
