Parts Of Speech

I chose the sentences “A noun names a person, place, thing, or idea” and “An adverb describes a verb, adjective, or another adverb.” These stood out to me because I learned that nouns can represent not just objects or people but also ideas, and that adverbs are more flexible than I thought since they can also describe adjectives. Some examples of parts of speech are: Nouns (teacher, city, happiness), Adjectives (happy, colourful, difficult), Adverbs (quickly, very, silently), Verbs (run, is, think), Pronouns (she, they, it), Prepositions (in, on, under), Conjunctions (and, but, because), and Interjections (Wow!, Oh!, Hey!).
