In English, every word has a job in a sentence. These jobs are called Parts of Speech. There are eight main parts:

1. Noun – names a person, place, thing, or idea (e.g., dog, city, love).

2. Pronoun – replaces a noun (e.g., he, she, they).

3. Verb – shows an action or a state (e.g., run, is).

4. Adjective – describes a noun (e.g., beautiful, big).

5. Adverb – describes a verb, adjective, or another adverb (e.g., quickly, very).

6. Preposition – shows the relationship between words (e.g., in, on, at).

7. Conjunction – connects words or sentences (e.g., and, but, because).

8. Interjection – shows sudden feeling or emotion (e.g., wow!, oh!).
