🌟 1. Based on Purpose

Sentences are divided into four main types:

1. Declarative Sentence (Statement)
➤ Tells something or gives information.
🔹 Example: The sun rises in the east.


2. Interrogative Sentence (Question)
➤ Asks a question and ends with a question mark (?).
🔹 Example: Where are you going?


3. Imperative Sentence (Command or Request)
➤ Gives an order, advice, or request.
🔹 Example: Please close the door.


4. Exclamatory Sentence (Strong Feeling)
➤ Expresses sudden emotion and ends with an exclamation mark (!).

🧩 2. Based on Structure

Sentences can also be classified by how many clauses they contain:

1. Simple Sentence – Has one independent clause.
🔹 Example: She loves music.


2. Compound Sentence – Has two or more independent clauses joined by and, but, or, so, for, yet.
🔹 Example: She loves music, and she plays the guitar.


3. Complex Sentence – Has one independent clause and one or more dependent clauses.
🔹 Example: She plays the guitar because she loves music.


4. Compound-Complex Sentence – Has at least two independent clauses and one dependent clause.
🔹 Example: She loves music, and she plays the guitar because it makes her happy.
