Parts of Speech

First, I would carefully read the "Parts of Speech" resources. Then, I would pick a couple of sentences that I found interesting or informative.

For example, I might choose these sentences:
"The quick brown fox jumps over the lazy dog."
"She sells seashells by the seashore."
Next, I'd identify the parts of speech in each sentence:
In the first sentence: "The" is an article. "quick" and "brown" are adjectives.
"fox" and "dog" are nouns.
"jumps" is a verb.
"over" is a preposition.
"lazy" is an adjective.

 In the second sentence:
 "She" is a pronoun.
 "sells" is a verb.
"seashells" is a noun.
"by" is a preposition.
"the" is an article. "seashore" is a noun.

Finally, I would share these sentences and my analysis in the class discussion forum. I'd also read what my classmates have posted and reply to their posts, sharing any additional parts of speech I can identify in their sentences.
