- Adjective - modifies a noun or a pronoun Ex: pretty, bright, manly
- Adverb - modifies a verb, an adjective or another adverb Ex: gracefully
- Preposition - shows relationship between a noun/pronoun usually indicating location, time and direction Ex: on, in, over
- Conjunction - joins words, phrases or clauses (FANBOYS) EX: And, but, or
- Interjection - expresses sudden emotions, usually Ex: Oh!, Wow!, Ouch!
