Vocabulary Strategy: Using Word Maps

Today, I used flashcards to learn new English words. On one side of each card, I wrote a new word. On the other side, I wrote the meaning and a simple sentence.

This strategy worked well for me because I can see the word many times and remember it better. I also said each word aloud to practice pronunciation.

The new words I learned today are:

  • happy: feeling good or glad. Example: I am happy today.
  • tired: needing rest or sleep. Example: I am tired after work
  • clean: not dirty. Example: The room is clean.
  • hungry: wanting food. Example: I am hungry now.
  • big: large in size. Example: The dog is big.

I like this method because it is simple and helps me remember words faster. I will use flashcards again tomorrow to learn more new words.
