From all the vocabulary building strategies presented here, the most effective for me was learning the prefixes and suffixes. Now, everytime I encounter a new word that I am unsure of its meaning, I simply look at its affix, and it makes learning the definition of the word easier.

Today, I tried improving my vocabulary by learning new words through reading an online article and using context clues to guess their meanings before checking the dictionary. I found this method really effective because it helped me understand how words are used naturally in sentences. New Words I Learned: 1. Meticulous – showing great attention to detail. 2. Resilient – able to recover quickly from difficulties. 3. Ambiguous – having more than one possible meaning. Did it Work for Me? Yes! It helped me remember words better because I connected them to real examples. I realized that when I discover a word in context, it’s easier to recall its meaning later. Reflection: I will continue to use this strategy because it not only helps me learn new words but also improves my reading comprehension.
