Summary of “Sentence Types Discussion”
This activity asks students to share information about themselves—such as where they live, their job, and their likes or dislikes—to help classmates get to know them better. The goal is to use different sentence patterns and types of sentences (such as simple, compound, complex, and compound-complex) in their responses. After writing, students should identify which sentence patterns and types they used. Finally, they should participate in the class discussion by replying to classmates, finding common interests, or asking questions to learn more about them.
