Today, I tried using the context clues strategy while reading an article about gut health. I came across the word “probiotics” and noticed that the sentences around it talked about “good bacteria” and “healthy digestion.” From that, I guessed that probiotics help the stomach work properly. When I later checked the definition, my guess was correct!
This strategy worked really well for me because it made me think carefully about how words are used in context. It also helped me remember the meaning more easily since I understood how it fit into the topic I was reading.
