Paragraph: A paragraph is a group of related sentences about one main idea. It usually has:
• A topic sentence (the main idea)
• A few supporting sentence (details or examples)
• An ending sentence (optional)
Example: I love my school. It has many classrooms and a big playground. My teachers are kind and helpful. I enjoy studying and playing with my friends at school.
Types of Paragraph:
1) Descriptive paragraph: Describes a person, place or thing.
Example: My dog is small, fluffy and very playful.
2) Narrative paragraph: Tells a story or event.
Example: Yesterday I went to the park and saw a rainbow.
3) Informative/Expository paragraph: Gives facts or explains something.
Example: Water is important for life. It keeps our bodies healthy.
4) Persuasive paragraph: tries to convince the reader of something.
Example: Everyone should recycle to protect the environment.
