I learned that every word in a sentence has a specific job. One important sentence for me was: Verbs show an action or state of being. Another one was: Adjectives describes nouns.
The eight parts of speech are:
1. Nouns- name a person, place, thing or idea
2. Pronouns- replace a noun (he, she, we, you, they, us, it)
3. Verbs- Show an action or state of being.
4.Adjectives- describe a noun.
5. Adverbs- describe a verb, adjective.
6. Prepositions- show relationship 9on, in, under, by, between)
7. Conjunctions- join words or sentences (and, but, because)
8. Interjections- show emotion (wow, oh, hey)
