Strategy I Tried: Context Clues

Today, I tried using context clues to understand new words while reading an article. When I came across the word “meticulous”, I looked at the sentence: “She was meticulous in organizing her notes, making sure every detail was correct.” From the surrounding words, I guessed that meticulous means very careful or precise—and I was right!

New Words I Learned:

  • Meticulous

  • Collaborate

  • Innovative

Did it Work?
Yes! Using context clues helped me figure out meanings without needing a dictionary every time. I think I’ll keep practicing this strategy because it helps me read faster and remember new words.
