Vocabulary strategy chosen: context clues.
What are context clues? This is the strategy that helps a reader to determine the meaning of a word by looking at the words surrounding the particular word and how they connect to it to build meaning.
While reading, I applied the context clues strategy to determine the meaning of these words:
1. Sidetrack....an alternative route, a digression, a deviation
2. Somewhat.... slightly, moderately
3. Lethargic..... inactive
This method works when a reader wants a quick and more general meaning of a word. You can later look it up in a dictionary for more details.
