In this lesson there are indipendent and dependent clauses.

INDEPENDENT: Subject+verb

Example: The sun sets.

DEPENDENT: Include (time conditions, causal condition, contrarry condition and potential condition).

  • Time condition: for example after, before, during..
  • Causal condition: for example because, since, so that..
  • Contrary condition: except that, while, though..
  • Potential condition: if, unless, even if, whetever..

Also there are declarative, exclamatory, imperative and interrogative clauses. 

EXAMPLES 

Declarative: The library closes at 8:00 PM.

Exclamatory: I can't believe we actually won!

Imperative: Please close the door quietly

Interrogative: Where did you leave the car keys?
