Today, I chose the “use it or lose it” strategy to build my vocabulary. When I heard or read a new word, I wrote it down, looked up its meaning, and then tried to use it in a sentence later in the day. This strategy worked well for me because using the word helped me remember both its meaning and how to use it correctly.
Some new words I learned today were interim, reprimand, and attest. I practiced using them in sentences while talking with friends and writing short notes. After using them a few times, the words felt more familiar and easier to remember.
I think this strategy is effective because actively using new words makes them stick. I plan to continue using this method to improve my vocabulary.
