There are 8 Parts of speech they we need to learn because we'll have an easier time using them correctly and to know how these element are being to used.

 

  1. Nouns : can be name a person, place, thing or idea.
  • Common: any person, place, thing, or idea; teacher. State. city
  • Proper : specific person, place, or idea; Robert, California, Istanbul
  • Concrete : can be experienced through our sense; teacher, student, desk, cat, pet
  • Abstract : cannot be experienced directly (quality/idea); success, loyalty, freedom
  • Singular :show that there is one noun
  • Plural : show that there is more than one

 

  1. Pronoun : to take a noun's place, pronouns are not used with articles or come right after an adj

They have plural form

 

  1. Adjective : describe Nouns or Pronouns

Do not have plural

Appears when : (Adj+Noun) / (Pronun + linking verb + adj)

 

  1. Verbs :describe an action or state ; past future, present tanse
  • Main/lexical : tell us what action; works
  • Helping/auxiliary (be) : allow us to show when something happens or help us to create questions and negative statement; Robert is walking
  • Modal : show special conditions like ability, probability, or suggestion

 

  1. Adverb : describe verbs, Adjective, or other adverbs
  • Describing verb : adverb before verb (They always go), adverb after verb (They walk fast).
  • Describing adverb : adverb before adj (This is a very useful), adverb before adverb (quite fast)
  • Describing adjective : have irregular adverb, but commonly end in -ly when it's regular; creatively, happly, warmly

Prepositions : show a relationship or place, time, or location between nouns and pronouns

In, on, at, to + added infronrt of noun, noun phrase or pronoun to add extra information

 

  1. Conjunction : are used to connect words
  • Coordinating : to connect 2 more nouns and 2 more verbs

FANBOYS : for, and, nor, but, or, yet, so

  • Subordinating : connect two part or sentence by showing the relationship between them, the two part sentence don’t have equal importance

Because, since, although, and when.

  • Correlative : : connect two part or sentence by showing the relationship between them, the two part sentence have equal importance.

 

  1. Interjections : a spoken or written expression of emotion (form unformal writing or speaking)
