Today I tried the context clue strategy to improve my vocabulary. In this strategy, I tried to understand the meaning of new words by reading the sentences around them instead of immediately using a dictionary.
While reading an article, I found some new words like abundant, fragile, and expand. By reading the surrounding sentences, I guessed their meanings. For example, the sentence explained that forests have an abundant number of trees, so I understood that abundant means a large amount. Later, I checked the dictionary and found that my guess was correct.
This strategy worked well for me because it helped me understand words naturally while reading. It also improved my reading comprehension. I learned that fragile means easily broken and expand means to grow or increase in size.
I will continue using this strategy because it helps me learn new words more effectively and remember them for a longer time.
