Here are some sentences you can use for a sentence-type discussion (showing subject, verb, object, and sometimes place or time):


  1. The student reads a book in the library.
  2. My brother plays football in the evening.
  3. The teacher explains the lesson in class.
  4. She drinks coffee in the morning.
  5. They watch a movie at night.
  6. The child eats an apple after school.
  7. We study English in the classroom.
  8. Ali writes a letter at home.



In these examples:


  • Subject = who does the action (The student, My brother, She)
  • Verb = the action (reads, plays, explains)
  • Object = receives the action (a book, football, the lesson)
  • Place/Time = extra information (in the library, in the evening, at night).
