Hi everyone,
For this week's practice, I analyzed the sentences about Robert and his family using the SVOMPT (Subject, Verb, Object, Manner, Place, Time) structure. This model really helped me see how English sentences are built in a specific order.
What I learned:
I noticed that not every sentence needs every part of the SVOMPT pattern. For example, "Robert lives in an apartment" uses a Place, but "They work in the mornings" uses a Time. Learning this order makes it much easier for me to organize my own sentences without getting confused about where to put the location or the time.
In English, if you have both a Place and a Time in the same sentence, the Place almost always comes first.
Correct: I study at the library (Place) at 4:00 (Time).
Incorrect: I study at 4:00 at the library.
