From the Parts of Speech lesson, I learned how words work together to form clear sentences. For example, in “The quick brown fox jumps over the lazy dog,” the nouns are fox and dog, the adjectives are quick, brown, and lazy, the verb is jumps, the preposition is over, and the article is the. Another example is “She runs quickly to catch the bus,” where she is a pronoun, runs is a verb, quickly is an adverb, bus is a noun, to is a preposition, and the is an article. These examples showed me how each part of speech adds meaning to a sentence.
