1). Compound Sentence

 Two independent clauses + coordinating conjunction (and, but, or)

Example - I was tired, but I finished my work.

2). Complex Sentence

One independent clause + 1 or more dependent clauses

Example - I finished my work because I was tired.

3).Compound-Complex Sentence

Two independent clauses + 1 or more dependent clauses

Example - I was tired, but I finished my work because it was important.

Tipes: Compound = 2 independent

Complex = 1 independent + dependent Compound-Complex = mix of Both declarative

- It makes a statement.

I like ice cream.

He is my friend.

Interrogative

- It asks a question.

Do you like ice cream? What is your name?

Imperative

It gives a command or make request.

Please pass the salt.

Be quite.

Close the door.
