I found some sentences in the ESL002 present tense forum:

"In my daily schedule, I usually wake up at 5:15 a.m. while my mom always wakes up earlier at 4:45 a.m. I have breakfast at 5:50 a.m. but my mom never has breakfast because she leaves for work instead. I leave for work at 6:15 a.m. and my work routine starts at 6:30 a.m. Around 9:25 a.m. I have a short break, eat something and then finish work at 2:00 p.m."

In the first sentence:

The second predicate  "wakes up" is  third person singular and who wakes up? :"my mom", which is used as subject is third person singular. So, the subject and the verb agree.

In the second one:

The  predicate  "leaves", is also third person singular. Who leaves? : "she" is a pronoun used as a subject, and it is third person singular feminine. Its antecedent is the noun "mom" in sentence 1, which is also third person singular and feminine. So, the pronoun and its antecedent agree.
