“My Experience with a Vocabulary Learning Strategy”

Today, I tried the context clues strategy to improve my vocabulary. This means I looked at how a word is used in a sentence to understand its meaning instead of directly using a dictionary.

For example, I read a sentence: “He was exhausted after running for a long time.” From the sentence, I understood that “exhausted” means very tired.

Another word I learned was “innovative”, which means something new and creative.

This strategy worked well for me because it helped me guess meanings quickly and remember the words better. It also made reading more interesting because I didn’t have to stop every time to check a dictionary.

I think I will continue using this strategy along with a dictionary to improve my vocabulary further.
