Prompt
Note: The following prompts were tested in Microsoft Copilot for Web, but they are suitable for most language based generative AI.
Make sure you modify the prompt below to suit your unit and concepts you'd like to review.
Prompt 1
‘Can you help me draft an email to <role of recipient>? I want to <intention>.’
You could also prompt with a specific sentence or section and ask follow up prompts in order to reach a more concise sentence:
Prompt 2
‘Is there a more concise and formal way to express <idea>? Emphasise <something> within the email.’
‘How can I make the email above sound more friendly?’
Make sure you modify the prompts above to
suit your specific emailing needs. Ensure you avoid putting personal
information into AI prompts, such as names.
Explanation
Prompt 1 gives the AI the task (to draft an email), and instructions to make it more concise and formal.
Prompt 2 allows you to quickly identify and fix errors in the work produced, with the opportunity to prompt further and improve the written expression to clearly convey your meaning.
Examples
The screenshots below demonstrates how AI can be used to draft and summarise emails as discussed above.
