Using sources is fundamental to academic writing. It provides credibility in your argument, demonstrates an understanding of the ideas you are discussing, and supports the thesis of your arguments. Citing sources can be done by quoting, paraphrasing, and summarising authoritative text from reputable sources. The most relevant are academic texts from the area of study but some books by thought leaders in the area and websites  of trusted organisations are also research worthy sources.
