Hi everyone,
While going through the Parts of Speech resources, a couple of sentences really stood out to me and helped me understand things better.
One sentence I found especially helpful was:
“An adverb modifies a verb, adjective, or another adverb.”
Before this, I only thought adverbs described actions, but I learned they can also describe adjectives and other adverbs, which was new to me.
Another useful sentence was:
“Conjunctions join words, phrases, or clauses.”
It made me realize how important conjunctions are for connecting ideas and making our writing flow better.
Here are some parts of speech I noticed from these examples:
-
Verbs – modifies, describe, join
-
Adverbs – just
-
Adjectives – another
-
Conjunctions – or, and
-
Nouns – verb, adjective, clause
-
Pronouns – they
-
Prepositions – of
