For today's vocabulary strategy, I decided to try learning one new word a day. This strategy involves choosing a new word each day, learning its meaning, and then using it in different contexts throughout the day to help remember it better.
I started by looking up the word "resilient", which means the ability to recover quickly from difficulties or adversity. I found this word in a book I was reading and thought it would be a good one to learn because it describes an important characteristic that I admire in people.
To practice, I used the word "resilient" in different sentences:
-
"Even though she faced many challenges, her resilient attitude helped her stay positive and keep moving forward."
-
"The community showed its resilient spirit after the storm by coming together to rebuild."
After practicing the word, I felt more confident using it in conversation, and I was able to remember its meaning more clearly.
Strategy I chose: Learning one new word a day.
Did it work for me? Yes, it worked well! I feel like learning just one word at a time makes it easier to remember and use in daily life.
New word I learned: "Resilient."
