Parts of Speech in English
There are 8 main parts of speech in English. Each one plays a different role in a sentence.

Noun
A noun is a word that names a person, place, thing, or idea.
Examples: teacher, Kabul, book, freedom -
Pronoun
A pronoun replaces a noun to avoid repetition.
Examples: he, she, it, they, you, we -
Verb
A verb shows action or state of being.
Examples: run, eat, is, are, write -
Adjective
An adjective describes or modifies a noun.
Examples: big, blue, happy, fast -
Adverb
An adverb describes or modifies a verb, adjective, or another adverb.
Examples: quickly, very, well, always -
Preposition
A preposition shows the relationship between a noun (or pronoun) and another word in the sentence.
Examples: in, on, at, under, with -
Conjunction
A conjunction connects words, phrases, or clauses.
Examples: and, but, or, because, although -
Interjection
An interjection is a word or phrase that expresses strong feeling or reaction.
Examples: wow!, oh!, ouch!, hey!
