Parts of speech

Today, I'll talk about two parts of speech that sometimes are confusing for me: conjuctions and prepositions.

Conjuctions:

We studied two types of conjuctions: coordinating and subordinating.

Two examples of coordinating conjuctions are for and yet, which are used in the next two sentences:

  1. I travel for pleasure.
  2. It was sunny, yet it was a cold day.
On the other hand, two examples of subordinating conjuctions are while and even though, which can be used like we can observe next:

  1. He is very talkative, while she is quiet.
  2. The lollipop was delicious, even though I don't like bananas.
Prepositions:

We also studied some prepositions of time (like on), place (like at) and movement (like through). Here are some examples of their use:

  1. I'll go to the library on Monday morning.
  2. Let's meet at the park!
  3. We passed through the tunnel.
