Dear classmates in the ESL001 course,
I would like to share some thoughts regarding our current lesson on "Parts of Speech". After reviewing Unit 1, I’ve realized that understanding these parts is like putting puzzle pieces in their correct places to build a strong sentence.
Here is a quick summary of what I’ve learned and would like to discuss with you:
Nouns: They are the names that give meaning to things around us, such as Student, Lesson, or Academy.
Verbs: They are the "engine" of the sentence; without them, no action happens.
Adjectives: These add color and details to nouns, like saying a "Smart student".
Interjections: This part is very interesting! They are short words that express sudden emotions, like (Wow! or Oops!), making our language sound more natural.
Discussion Question:
In your opinion, which of the eight parts of speech is the most challenging? For me, I sometimes find it tricky to distinguish between an Adverb and an Adjective in complex sentences.
I look forward to reading your thoughts and experiences
