Today, I tried using the context clues strategy to improve my vocabulary. I read a short article and focused on understanding unfamiliar words by looking at the sentences around them. Instead of immediately checking the dictionary, I guessed the meanings based on how the words were used.

This strategy worked well for me because it helped me think more deeply about the text. I learned new words like “innovative,” which means something new and creative, and “challenge,” which can mean a difficult task. After guessing their meanings, I checked them in the dictionary to confirm if I was correct.

Overall, I found this strategy helpful because it made reading more interesting and improved my understanding. I will continue using context clues to build my vocabulary.
