Today, I tried the **context clues strategy** to learn new words. This strategy involves using the surrounding words and sentences to figure out the meaning of an unfamiliar word.
I practiced this by reading different texts and guessing the meanings of new words before checking a dictionary. One word I learned was **"reprimand."** From the sentence, *"Stephen received a written reprimand from his supervisor when he showed up late the third time,"* I guessed it meant **a formal warning or scolding**, which turned out to be correct!
This strategy worked well for me because it helped me understand words naturally without immediately looking them up. It also made me more confident in reading complex texts. I plan to keep using this method to improve my vocabulary.
