When we add numbers we need to make sure that we add the same place values together. When we add 25 to 34, we end up with 59 because we added the tens together 20 + 30 to get 50 and the ones together 5 + 4 to get 9. This is also true when adding decimals. Watch this video for a worked example of an addition problem with decimal expressions. Pay attention to how to line up the decimal point when adding decimals.
