  • Punctuation: Does each sentence end with a period? Your interjection may have an exclamation point (!), but the other sentences should all end with a period (.).
  • Capitalization: The first word in every sentence should be capitalized. After the first word, only proper nouns (like people’s names) should be capitalized. Everything else should be lower-case.
  •  Read each sentence out loud again. How do they sound to you now? You can use the discussion forum to ask questions about your sentences and get feedback from your classmates.
  • Correct words: Did you use the right word? Many words in English look similar but have different meanings (for example, like and lick). Check each word to make sure it’s the right one.
  • Nouns and Pronouns: Does each sentence have a noun or a pronoun? You can have more than one, but you need at least one in every sentence.
  • Spelling: Is every word spelled correctly?
  • Verbs: Does each sentence have a verb? Just like nouns and pronouns, you can have more than one, but you need at least one in every sentence.
  • Adjectives and Adverbs: Does sentence three include an adjective and an adverb?
  • Interjections: Does sentence five include an interjection?
  • Read each sentence out loud. Do they sound correct? Is anything missing? You can add to your sentences if you want to tell more about your day.
  • Prepositions and Conjunctions: Does sentence four include a preposition or conjunction?
