I took some example from the text The Sun also Rises.
In the morning it was raining. A fog had come over the mountains. The plateau was dull and gloomy, and the shapes of the trees and the house were changed.
I walked beyond the town to look at the weather. The bad weather was coming over the mountains from the sea.
- Nouns
Name of person, thing, place, idea/consept. Example: morning, mountains, fog, trees, house, sea.
- Pronouns
Replace a noun. Example: I, It.
- Adjective
Describe nouns or pronouns. Example: dull, gloomy, bad.
- Verbs
Describe action or state. Example: had, changed, walked, look, coming.
- Adverb
Describe verbs, adjectives, or other adverbs. Example: really, quietly, slowly.
- Articles
Example: the, a.
- Conjunction
Connecting word, phrases or sentence. Example: and, to, from.
- Preposition
Links a noun/pronoun and the rest of a sentence. Example: in, over, at.
