There are eight parts of Speech, which is essential to know for beginners in learning the English language like me. these are the following:
- Noun - names a person, things, or idea. (Example: Peanut is the name of our dog.)
- Pronoun - replace nouns. (Example: I have a dog. Her name is Peanut.)
- Verb - expresses a physical action or state. (Example: Peanut plays outside.)
- Adverb - modify verbs, adjectives, or adverbs. (Example: She walked slowly.)
- Adjective - describe nouns and pronouns. (Example: Peanut is a lovely dog.)
- Preposition - show relationship of words and phrases. (Example: The ball is under the table.)
- Conjunction - join words, phrases, and clauses. (Example: She is tall and slim.)
- Interjection - shows strong emotion. (Example: Wow, That's a good news!)
