Parts of speech are categories of words based on their roles in a sentence:


1. Noun: Names of people, places, things, or ideas (e.g., dog, honesty).



2. Pronoun: Replaces nouns (e.g., he, she).



3. Verb: Shows action or state (e.g., run, decide).



4. Adjective: Describes nouns (e.g., honest, beautiful).



5. Adverb: Describes verbs, adjectives, or other adverbs (e.g., quickly).



6. Preposition: Shows relationships (e.g., on, under).



7. Conjunction: Connects words or clauses (e.g., and, because).
